Dust off those fingerless gloves, because Avril Lavigne has announced a pair of UK gigs for 2020. The pop-punk queen will play London’s O2 Academy Brixton on April 1 and O2 Apollo Manchester on April 2 as part of the European leg of her ‘Head Above Water’ world tour. It has already criss-crossed North America and quite frankly the setlist looks Av-solutely bangin’: all her biggest hits including ‘Complicated’, ‘Sk8er Boi’ and ‘Girlfriend’ are present and correct, interspersed with more recent AvLav bangers such as ‘Dumb Blonde’ and ‘Here's To Never Growing Up’.
These are Lavigne’s first UK headline shows since 2011, so you’ll want to make sure you’re ready when tickets go on sale this Friday (October 18) at 9am. Promoter Live Nation has announced that £2 from each ticket sold will be donated to The Avril Lavigne Foundation, which supports people with Lyme disease – which the singer herself has battled in recent years – as well as those with other serious illnesses and disabilities.
