[title]
Artist, designer and fan of slapping some lovely bright colours on your favourite London landmarks, Islington’s own Yinka Ilori is gracing a new pop-up Courvoisier bar in Selfridges with his excellent art.
Celebrating Ilori’s limited-edition ombre bottle design for Courvoisier’s VSOP cognac – which is inspired by a lush summer’s day in Jarnac, France – the pop-up is open until September 11 and is a treat for the eyes (and mouth).
The British-Nigerian artist’s temporary bar is meant to represent the wavy waters of the Charente river, which flows through France’s Cognac region, and you’ll find it in the department store’s ground floor Wonder Room. It looks delightful, and we have it on good authority that it tastes even better.
There’ll be three cocktails up for sipping, and each comes with a sweet treat from luxe confectionist The Marshmallowist.
The Gala mixes Courvoisier VSOP with Sicilian lemonade, and comes with a blueberry, hibiscus and lemon marshmallow decorated with chocolate print. There's also the Roasted Peach Daisy – cognac with apricot liqueur, roasted peach syrup and lemon juice, with a peach flavoured marshmallow – and a French 125, with cognac, lemon juice, sparkling wine and spiced vanilla syrup, paired with a chocolate teacake marshmallow.
Here are a couple more pics of the Courvoisier x Yinka Ilori pop-up at Selfridges.
If you’d like to get your hands on Ilori’s VSOP bottle, it’ll set you back £200 – and you’ll have to be quick, as only 1,000 are available.
