Good news people: the Covent Garden branch of ace Japanese restaurant Jidori has just started opening for lunch and it’s doing £5 rice bowls to celebrate. (We gave its Dalston branch five stars, FYI, and the bowls normally cost £9-£11).
The bowls are available between 12pm and 3pm at Jidori Covent Garden until Saturday March 17.
Here are the £5 rice bowl options: chicken, aubergine or mushroom yakitori with onsen egg, spinach and nori; rolled omelette, onsen egg, spinach and nori; coal-baked aubergine with miso and spinach; sushi-grade salmon, egg yolk, daikon, pickled ginger and wasabi; panko-crumbed chicken, curry sauce and shredded cabbage; soy-braised beef cheeks, egg yolk and kirashi mustard.
Jidori Covent Garden is open for lunch Tuesday to Saturday from 12pm to 3pm, and for dinner from 6pm. 15 Catherine St, WC2B 5JZ.
