Crystal Palace has been without a cinema for more than 50 years, but judging by this first look at the one opening there later this year, it will have been worth the wait. Okay, nearly.

After a multimillion-pound restoration of the building that previously housed the Rialto Cinema – built in the 1920s and in operation for 40 years before closing in 1968 – the four-screen Everyman will be kitted out with the latest in Dolby Surround Sound, 4K projection and comfy sofa technology.

Take a sneak peek at the plans below.

Everyman Crystal Palace is due to open later in 2018.
