In a world where penny sweets no longer cost a penny, there ain’t a lot you can get for 50p, especially in a city as expensive as London. But if you’re a cash-poor art fan (and what truly artsy person isn’t the best friend of their own overdraft?) today is your lucky day!

To celebrate the gallery’s 50th birthday, the Hayward Gallery on the Southbank is selling tickets for its headline show 'Lee Bul' for the princely sum of 50p!

Not since the Queen’s Nose premiered has the seven-sided piece of pocket change promised so much. In fact, for just 20p more than it would cost you to use the toilets at Waterloo station, visitors to ‘Lee Bul’ can gaze in awe at a giant silver Zeplin, lose themselves in an endlessly mirrored room, and scare themselves silly over Bul’s bulbous, blobby monsters.

The esteemed Art section of Time Out gave it four stars, calling it ‘hugely powerful art’. How much more encouragement could you need?

Entrance is first come, first served and the Hayward is staying open until 9pm tonight. Find out more here.
