Way back in 2022 Boxpark revealed it would open a massive new venue, Boxhall, in the City of London. Now an official opening date for the new joint is finally here, and punters will be sinking pints and chowing down on street food in the venue near Liverpool Street in no time.

Boxhall City will officially open on Thursday April 10, taking over the restored Metropolitan Arcade. This time the brand is diverging from its typical shipping container look, with a more elevated vibe designed by interior studio Macaulay Sinclair. Picture wrought iron, black and white tiled floors and lots of glass.

As well as the 13 vendors which have now all been confirmed by Boxpark (listed below), Boxhall will be home to Kitchen No. 8 – a rotating chef-led space for culinary talent to test new ideas, offering a bespoke dining experience for guests – and a rooftop bar, which will open later in the year.

Here we can reveal a sneak peak of what Boxhall will look like.

About the revamped arcade, Macaulay Sinclair director Mike Sinclair said: ‘The structure of the arcade naturally dictated the arrangement of 13 kitchens and two beer halls, with communal seating flowing beneath the spectacular glazed roof.

‘Important features have been meticulously preserved and showcased, including exposed steelwork beams and columns, original concrete flooring and ceilings, and original timber shopfronts, which have been adapted into kitchen frontages. The stand-out feature is undoubtedly the linear arcade space and its grand canopy.’

In other Boxpark news, the roof terrace of the brand’s Shoreditch outpost officially opens on March 31. The venue will continue trading until at least the end of summer 2025, as it had its lease extended
