One of the highlights of London in the summer is Film4 Summer Screen series, the fabulous outdoor cinema experience held amid the Neoclassical architecture of Somerset House.
This year's theme is dreamscapes – look out for a line-up of films including 'Inception', 'Blue Velvet' and 'Call Me By Your Name' – which, given the hazy heat we've been experiencing, feels like fitting subject matter to explore when the series kicks off in August.
In addition, Film4 Summer Screen has also announced a number of special experiences that'll make any cinephile very excited. There'll be on-stage introductions from some cinematic legends, including Sir Michael Caine and Hollywood royalty Glenn Close. You'll also be able to get up close with filmmakers themselves, thanks to talks with 'God's Own Country' director Francis Lee and 'Star Wars' set director Stella Fox. Audiences can get involved, too, thanks to drawing and 3-D modeling with animator Lauren Orme, which takes place before the screening of 'Sleeping Beauty'.
To get you in the mood for the screenings – and to keep those early birds entertained – you can expect specially curated DJ sets from special guests such as Denise Johnson, Barry Adamson and Jonjo Jury, with each set inspired by that evening's screening.
