Until this week, London basked in nearly an entire fortnight of delightful weather. Blue, cloudless skies and toasty afternoons were the norm – and the weather all more than made up for the thoroughly grey winter months.

Kids have been off from school for well over a week, meaning many Londoners have been out exploring the city’s many thrilling Easter activities, from kids’ theatre shows to spring flower displays. For the rest of us, as we lead up to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and (for most of us) four days off, the big question is… will the weather hold out?

Will Londoners’ 2025 Easter egg hunts be rained off? As of Maundy Thursday (April 17), here’s what the forecasters are saying.

London Easter Bank Holiday 2025 weather forecast

Forecasters are getting a better idea of what the weather will be doing next weekend. And there’s currently a bit of diversity of opinion, though if you were hoping for wall-to-wall sunshine, expect to be disappointed.

At the mo the Met Office reckons that Good Friday (April 18) will be cloudy with ‘sunny intervals’ and quite strong winds, with highs of 16C and lows of 10C. While the weather should be sunny earlier in the day, the Met Office says that there’s up to a 40 percent change of rain from the early evening onwards.

For Saturday (April 19), the Met says it is most likely to rain in the morning (up to 40 percent chance of precipitation at 10am) but it’ll be sunnier in the afternoon and the mercury could reach 16C. It’ll be a tad windy, especially earlier in the day.

Sunday (April 20) and Monday (April 21), according to the Met Office, will have more patches of sunshine but still have a chance of rain. Both days could hit 17C

The BBC, meanwhile, currently says Good Friday will see highs of 18C with ‘sunny intervals and a gentle breeze’. Saturday might see some rain in the morning and Sunday in the late evening.

BBC Weather’s forecast for Easter Monday shows a sunny morning and cloudy highs of 15C later in the afternoon. There’s a higher chance of rain stretching into the afternoon.

So! It’s not looking like a total wash-out, but it won’t be blazing sunshine in the capital this weekend either. Pretty much London weather as usual, then.
