We all know that Croydon is basically the best part of London, nay the UK, nay the whole damn world. But today it gets just a little bit more awesome. Nas, Wizkid and Damian Marley have been confirmed as headliners for a brand new festival in Croydon called – hopefully tongue-in-cheek – The Ends. It’s a three-day fest which takes place in Lloyd Park from May 31 to June 2 next year. 15,000 music lovers each day is the capacity, and hopefully it will retain a strong local flavour: Croydon residents will have access to a 48-hour presale before tickets go on general sale.

Revered rapper Nas will headline the Friday. Nigerian singer-songwriter Wizkid – who collaborated with Drake on global enormo-hit ‘One Dance’ – will head up the Saturday. Reggae don Damian Marley will then bring The Ends to an end on the Sunday.

Further acts will be announced in due course, but with organisers saying they want to ‘engage and inspire local, national and international communities of composers, performers, creators and concert-goers through world-class performances’, what’s not to love? Frankly, The Ends sounds like the beginning of something great.

The Ends festival is on May 31 to June 2 2019.
