Few pop cultural reference points manage to stand the test of time for a solid four decades without losing their appeal and fading into obscurity. But ‘Grease’ – the hand jivin’, summer lovin’ high-school romp that made stars of John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John – remains as beloved as it did upon its release back in 1978.
So, to celebrate the anniversary, streaming service Now TV is throwing slumber party pop-up screenings on May 10 and 11 in Soho for all the wannabe Pink Ladies and T-Birds out there.
Taking place in a replica set of Frenchy’s bedroom, fans will be able to delve into a ‘Grease’-themed dressing-up box before watching a screening of the flick.
And what’s more, it’s all completely free, you just need to enter a ballot for the chance to win tickets.
Who needs ‘Summer Nights’ when spring’s already got so much in store, eh?
