At more than 300-years-old, all of us are familiar with what St Paul’s Cathedral looks like, even if we’ve just seen it on TV. But next month, there will be an opportunity to experience the London landmarkt in an entirely new light.

In February, St Paul’s will be transformed via a stunning immersive light and sound show. ‘Luminous’ by art collective Luxmuralis will animate the interior of the building with illuminations and soundscapes inspired by its history, collections and archives.

According to its website, Luxmuralis ‘brings stories to life through an understanding of art historical context of such institutions and painting with light the architecture, not for artifice or to simply animate, but to evoke and engage and take audiences on emotive journeys in some of the most remarkable buildings around’.

In the past, Luxmuralis has created shows at Westminster Abbey, Durham Cathedral and Oxford University. The company was also behind the ‘Poppy Fields’ display at the Tower of London in October.

The show at St Paul’s will take between 45 minutes to an hour to walk through and experience in all its glory. The installation will run from February 22 to February 28 and open from 6.30pm to 10pm each night. You can grab your tickets here
