A ‘pancake burger’ is on this London restaurant’s menu for one day only

The avocado burger, the Sunday roast burger, the burger made of waffles – it was inevitable that one day a pancake burger would join the generously filled ranks of London’s most attention-grabbing buns. And now, finally, that day has come.

The brains behind it are Scottish meat-and-seafood specialists Mac & Wild. Their creation, which is only available today (February 25) for Shrove Tuesday, features a beef patty, melted reblochon cheese, pickles and macaroni cheese, all served between buns made of pancake batter. There’s gravy to pour over too, just in case you were worried there was a chance you might be able to eat it without getting it all down your front.

Inspired mash-up or flash-in-the-pan stunt dish? Get down to either of the Mac & Wilds (they’re in Fitzrovia and Devonshire Square) and let us know what you think. If you miss out, don’t worry: they’ve got a pancake stack on all week topped with geographically appropriate Irn Bru syrup and deep-fried Mars bar bites.

The pancake burger is £14.50 while the stack is three pancakes for £10.50.
