A massive inflatable obstacle course – The Monster – is bouncing into London this summer

‘Monster’ you say, should I be afraid?
Of an inflatable obstacle course that’s more than twice the length of a football pitch? Absolutely. The master kidult-pleasers behind last year’s blow-up fun zone, The Beast at Alexandra Palace, are bringing you its bigger, badder, better-looking brother. That piddly bouncy castle you always managed to hurt yourself on as a child? The Monster gobbles those up for breakfast.

Sounds fun, but we’ve seen it all before. What’s so good about this puffed-up brute?
At 300 metres long and 42 obstacles deep, this is supercharged inflatable fun at its finest. Zoom down an 18-metre mega-slide, crawl through the tunnel of love and escape from the bouncy cage of doom before jumping straight in to a giant adult ballpit. It’s worth remembering that your ticket only gets you one lap of the course (which typically takes 20 minutes) so don’t be a hero by rushing to the finish line.

And what do I get once I’ve conquered The Monster?
The spread at the end of the inflatable tunnel is a street food feast fit for a competitive eater. And you can quench your thirst with craft beers and cocktails – just don’t drink and bounce, unless you want to be struck down with a terrible  case of the hiccups. Can’t handle the wobble? Bring mates to grab on to (or cushion your fall).

Alexandra Palace. Alexandra Palace rail. Aug 24-27. Tickets are £20, book here.

Like what you see? There's an inflatable beast coming to Finsbury Park too
