You’ve encountered the chilling horror extravaganza that is FrightFest in August. Now meet the bastard son of Frightfest: FrightFest’s Halloween special.

Yes, the UK’s biggest horror fest is returning to London for a chilling Halloween weekender.

The spin-off fest runs over two days in early November and spices up an already scare-ilicious line-up of Halloween screenings across London’s cinemas

Fresh from celebrating its quarter century in the summer, FrightFest has unveiled a two-day spooky special that will run at Odeon Luxe West End in Leicester Square on November 1-2. Perfect for those who like to recline, crypt-like, in the comfiest seats while absorbing a portion of big-screen mayhem.

There are nine new films on the programme, with two screenings of each.

Opening the two-dayer is the UK premiere of Magpie, a noirish psychological thriller with Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley as a neglected woman on the edge. She’ll be dropping by with her partner IRL, Tom Bateman, the film’s writer-producer.

Also on the line-up is deliciously-premised Mexican shocker Parvulos, billed as a zombie ‘Lord of the Flies’. And they say you couldn’t improve on William Golding’s classic novel.

And another tale of the undead will lurch into Leicester Square in the horrifying shape of Guido Tölke’s chainsaw-wielding action spectacular The Bitter Taste.

Completing the line-up are Christmas-themed shocker Advent, noirish serial-killer flick Catch a Killer, shape-shifting horror drama Animale, comedy fantasy Time Travel is Dangerous, Indonesian gore-fest The Draft! and alien-invasion comedy Alien Country.
