If Selfridges’ Christmas shop has had you bah humbug-ing down Oxford Street, then here’s some festive news we can get behind.

Returning for its 20th year, Somerset House’s annual skate season has got some very exciting plans up its woolly sleeve for 2019.

Launching on November 13 (that’s actual acceptable winter), the iconic landmark will be hosting a number of Skate Lates, featuring top DJs including Nabihah Iqbal, Rockers LDN and Eat Your Own Ears, but it’s their opening party that’s got us practising our axels.

To kick off the season, and to coincide with new exhibition 24/7 – a look at the relentless culture of modern life – Somerset House will be running a 24-hour, all-night skate-athon. Fancy twirling around on the ice in the still of the night (or, more realistically, to the sound of pub kicking out time)? Now you can.

The Skate & Exhibition All-Nighter will take place Dec 7-Dec 8, entry is £8. Find out more here

The Somerset House ice-rink opens Wednesday November 11
