The BFI is delivering a stellar programme of romantic flicks for Valentine’s Day. On the bill are Thatcherite Britain romance My Beautiful Laundrette, sporty rom-com Love and Basketball, Aussie mystery drama Picnic at Hanging Rock, Céline Sciamma’s period romance Portrait of a Lady on Fire and 1960 Oscar winner The Apartment. If gift-giving is your love language, you’ll find plenty of presents to show your affection at the DIY Valentine’s Day Art Market. Taking over a unit of Copeland Park on February 15, it will play host to over 150 national and international artists and publishers, all bringing with them stalls’ worth of unique buys.
