Born in East London – the town in South Africa, not our own East End – and singing in Xhosa and English, young Zahara has won several shelves' worth of awards at home. She brings her acoustic guitar and a seven-piece band to London tonight to sing her delicate but rousing Afrosoul ballads, including the anthemic mega-hit 'Loliwe' and perhaps her eponymous tribute to Nelson Mandela.
