This trusty Hoboken trio played a three-night stint as Davies's backing band in 2000, so it's understandable that he'd invite them to play at his Meltdown. Here the drily humorous Ira Kaplan –one of alt.rock's greatest little-known guitarists – and cohorts ply a peerless mix of post-/drone rock, hypnotic krautrock, rough-necked punk and sweet indie pop, as well as their 'Reinventing the Wheel' project, which could well see them playing songs by their Condo Fucks alter ego and even (if you're lucky) acting out a classic sitcom.
