Why Music is Different from the Other Arts?

In a day of talks, discussions and performance, leaders in the fields of science and the humanities examine the value of music to the human being, in comparison with the other arts. Speakers include Roger Scruton, John Onians, John Sloboda, Nigel Osborne, Ray Tallis and Stephen Johnson. The day finishes with a concert featuring Ian Brown and the Sacconi Quartet playing Haydn, Schubert, Barber, Beethoven and Elgar.
