BBC Symphony Orchestra dedicates a day to the late Polish composer Henryk Górecki. Events begin with an 11am talk and lunchtime recital of string quartets; a 3pm documentary screening is then followed at 5.30pm with a recital from the BBC Singers. The Górecki-fest concludes at 7.30pm, when Antoni Wit conducts the BBC SO in the composer’s ‘Kyrie’, Harpsichord Concerto (soloist Mahan Esfahani) and Symphony No 2 (‘Copernican’), with bass-baritone Ian Paterson, soprano Marie Arnet and the BBC Symphony Chorus.
