It’s been 15 years since the first version of The Wave Pictures formed, so it’s about time they started permeating the mainstream. Their engaging tales of urban misfortune, courtesy of lead singer and lyricist David Tattersall, have flashes of Morrissey and Elvis Costello, but the music tends towards the spiky, lo-fi end of things.
