The golden age of English songwriting, the early twentieth century, is celebrated over eight days and includes all the surviving, original songs of Ralph Vaughan Williams. Other composers featured are Gustav Holst, Ivor Gurney and John Ireland. The festival opens with soprano Louise Kemény and baritone Gareth John baritone singing from the folk collections of RVW, Cecil Sharp and George Butterworth, with pianist William Vann.
