Schubert's stark, haunting song cycle 'Winterreise' is given a colourful reinterpretation from Hans Zenderand multimedia director Netia Jones to evoke the cabaret style of post-Weimar Germany. In this theatrical production, a disenchanted wanderer reflects upon the meaning of life, while Jones's images and the strains of the Britten Sinfonia and tenor Ian Bostridge bring the world to life around him. In German with English surtitles.
