Now this is something really special. At the birth of electro, hip hop and '80s digital funk in the US, British label Street Sounds was collecting the best of the bunch and releasing them for British ears. It developed its own niche that's endured for a generation of refined b-boys and b-girls, who no doubt will turn up in droves to see a DJ set from Kurtis Mantronik of Mantronix fame, plus a live show from awesome late-'70s funkers Fatback Band, Aleems and Inner Life vocalist Leroy Burgess, 'Let The Music Play' singer Shannon, Imagination's Leee John and early '80s electro pioneer Davy DMX. Shameless nostalgia though it all is, very few line-ups have quite as much class as this peach.
