For more edginess than the contents of a kitchen drawer, leftfield music fans need look no further than this sprawling east London festival. Often these cityfest things can be a rip-off, offering hundreds of bands in thousands of venues while, actually, queuing up to see just one takes you the whole festival time. But luckily, the S&D divides itself into delectable little party bites, with each venue housing its own sound and club night. So it does mean that, really, you don't need to go anywhere else all night. Notable dance-oriented acts and party crews include Banjo or Freakout, Get Me!, No Pain in Pop, Toro Y Moi, Dels, Dollop, Charlie XCX, New Young Pony Club and Count Chocula, but there are tons more acts and live bands besides. For a longer list, see their website.
