Apart from Air, nobody soundtracked ’90s Gallic cool like St Germain. His debut set him up as a master of deep and dubby nu-jazz, then his ‘Tourist’ album became de rigeur at every classy restaurant and after-club chill sesh in Europe. Now he’s back after a near-15-year absence with a new album influenced by the music of Mali.
