SpokFrevo Orquestra

The incredible 22-piece Brazilian big band makes a rare London visit for two nights of exuberant jazz that sounds like it's come straight from the heart of the Rio carnival. Led by superbly-named saxophonist Spok (his real name is Inaldo Cavalcante de Albuquerque), this band (in spite of its size) moves with incredible agility, like the Count Basie band on speed. All 22 members are irrespressible Latin jazz virtuosi at the top of their game.
