Ignaz Pleyel (1757–1831) was an important figure in European musical life, as a composer (pupil of Haydn, no less), publisher and piano maker. Here, a concert of music by Pleyel and his contemporaries to mark the arrival in the Museum of one of the College's finest portraits, by Antoine Vestier (1740-1824), of a young man now thought to be Pleyel.
