Since they formed in Osaka after lead singer Naoko Yamano first heard the Ramones more than 30 years ago, cult Japanese punk-pop trio Shonen Knife have been championed by Nirvana, Sonic Youth and Matt Groening. They're still fiercely adorable and have a huge repertoire of tough-but-cute songs about barbecue parties, rubber bands, lost luggage and sweets.
