Wigmore Hall’s new two-year series gets underway, with a host of performers presenting all 600 songs by the undisputed lieder king, composer Franz Schubert. Austrian baritone Florian Boesch brings his deep solid voice to the opening two concerts, accompanied by pianist Graham Johnson in a chronological programme from ‘Lebenstraum’, Op 1a, written when Schubert was 12, to ‘Das Lied im Grünen’ D917, an ode to the countryside, written a year before his death.
