Sam Sweeney

Renowned and nominated for a BBC Folk Horizon Award for his duo work with Hannah James, young folkie Sweeney has also lent his multi-instrumental talents (he plays violin, viola, octave viola, English bagpipes and nyckelharpa) to Bellowhead. He appears here as part of his 'Made in the Great War' tour: a multimedia show telling the story of Sweeney's violin, which was left unfinished in 1915 by a luthier and performer who was killed less than three years later in Flanders.
