There's much more to busking than bad versions of 'Wonderwall', and Robbie Boyd is a prime example: he made his name when he won the Mayor of London's 'Big Busk' competition in 2012, and now he's a bona fide rising star, playing increasingly large venues and carving out a niche for himself in the aftermath of the Mumford-inspired folk-rock boom. If you ever walked past Boyd singing in the street, you may remember his catchy, emotionally charged folk-pop and his creamy voice, which is bolstered tonight by a full live band.
