Phronesis: Pitch Black

This boundlessly energetic piano trio led by double bassist Jasper Høiby and featuring drummer Anton Eger and pianist Ivo Neame are one of the most exiting groups on the UK scene. The closest thing we have to Avishai Cohen's US-based trio, Høiby's massive sound and bold grooves, supercharged by Eger's frenetic beats and Neame's artful melodies, are a match for the likes of The Bad Plus and Brad Mehldau. Here they perform the London debut of their 'pitch black' performance, literally played in the dark.
