Manchester-based tenorist – label mate of similarly retro-inspired trumpeter Matt Halsall – draws heavily on Coltrane's 'A Love Supreme' to find his own emotionally-charged take on 1960s modal jazz. Joined by his fine band that includes brilliant pianist Adam Fairhall, they play music from Birchall's latest album 'Sacred Dimension'.
