Anthony Gonzalez's early output as M83 earned comparisons to Mogwai, Cocteau Twins and MBV, but his more recent releases have shown a bolder, louder, stronger and shinier side. His live shows pack an epic electro-rock punch, but still demonstrates a whimsical way with a melody.
