Precociously talented Polly Harvey-esque US vocalist Adu (who's latest solo album has been produced by Steve Albini), has been described as a 'Nina Simone for the Noughties', and she certainly has a similar melancholic power to her voice. Quirky yet compelling support comes from singer/guitarist Fischer whose existential ballads mix oddball chords with unsettling tales plus some post-Aphex Twin electronica from Dave I.D.
