An evening of stomping roots music awaits, as Van Morrison, Eric Burdon, Jools Holland and others celebrate the life and legacy of the folk and blues singer born Huddie Ledbetter. Famous for his versions of songs including ‘Midnight Special’, ‘Rock Island Line’ and ‘Where Did You Sleep Last Night?’, Lead Belly was also a convicted murderer – but his immortal soul must be getting some good karma from the fact that Lead Belly Fest will help to fund a whole range of charity work. LB’s old guitar and other memorabilia will be on display at the Albert Hall on the day, too.
