Lady Maisery perform 'Rest'

A female vocal trio, Lady M draw on the folk traditions of the UK and northern Europe, and are reviving the tradition of ‘diddling’ (nonsense lilting, that is, rather than swindling). They’re a regular big hit on the folk festival circuit, and tonight they premiere classical composer Emily Hall’s new song cycle of secular mourning, written with lyricist Toby Litt, as part of the Spitalfields Summer Festival.
