Ken Vandermark/Paal Nilssen-Love/Lasse Marhaug

A leading figure in Chicago's vibrant, esoteric and rock-edged contemporary jazz scene, multi-reedist Vandermark worked with the likes of Peter Brotzmann, the NRG Ensemble and Steam before forming his quintet. He's been on scorching form of late especially here alongside jaw-dropping drum tyro Nilssen-Love and electronics man Marhaug, in their aptly named Fire Room trio. First of two nights.
