Javelin

Founded in 2005 in Providence, Rhode Island – the US's East Coast hipster hub – Javelin started out as a 'surrealist block party in a box', using a boombox soundsystem to create collages of pop music. The duo have toned down their ironic-arty cultural references since 2009, when they released a track called 'Lindsay Brohan', and now create pleasant, jerky synthpop that's not a million miles away from Animal Collective's more accessible stuff.
