A concert for the victims of the devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan on March 11. Performers include pianists Megumi Fujita, Waka Hasegawa, Maiko Mori, Miho Sanou, Masachi Nishiyama, Hiro Takenouchi and Joseph Tong; violinists Satoko Fukuda and Megumi Nagae; Ayako Hotta-Lister, koto; Phuong Nguyen, accordion; flautist Tomoka Mukai; Richard Stagg, shakuhachi; and Koji Terada (baritone). Chopin's Waltz Brilliante, Op 34 No 1; Elgar's 'Salut d'Amour'; Noriko Motomatsu's 'A prophet'; Piazzolla's 'Libertango'; and Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue'. The programme is also to include works by Schubert, Rachmaninov, Puccini and Japanese traditional music. (The entire profits from ticket sales will go to the Japan Society Tohoku Earthquake Relief Fund which is distributing aid to help people in the affected areas.)
