The B-3 bashing Hammond maestro may have been around longer than most with his 'Starsky and Hutch'-theme tune, yet his recent albums 'New World' and 'The Template' show this old dog still has plenty of new tricks up his sleeve. Here these include trumpeter Smart's expansive Donald Bird-style horn arrangements and sultry soul-jazz vocals from Yanney. Quite frankly we can't imagine JTQ have ever sounded so good.
