James Taylor Quartet Big Band: Tribute to Jimmy Smith

The B-3 bashing Hammond maestro may have been around longer than most with his 'Starsky and Hutch'-theme tune, but his recent resurgent form shows this old dog still has plenty of new tricks to share. These include expansive flute/trumpet arrangements full of warm Donald Bird-style jazz-funk. Here he pays a full-blooded tribute to Hammond-hero Jimmy Smith complete with his own JTQ big band.
