If society is going to hell in a privatised handcart, the least we expect is a decent soundtrack. One of the new generation's few dedicated protest singers (hence her recent topping of The Independent's Pink List: Ones to Watch list), Leicester's Grace Petrie has toured with Billy Bragg, Josie Long and Emmy The Great, written for Radio 4's 'The Now Show', and doesn't pussyfoot around her melodies or her messages.
