GoGo Penguin are pianist Chris Illingworth, bassist Grant Russell and drummer Rob Turner: the Manchester-based piano trio's smash-and-grab approach to influences mashes Aphex Twin into Brian Eno, Massive Attack into EST and Debussy into Shostakovich. The Mercury- and Mobo-nominated Roller Trio, meanwhile, channel the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age and J Dilla as much as they do TrioVD and Heernt.
