One of Brazil's greatest singer-songwriters, Gil's mix of subversive, psych-rock-inspired tropicalismo, funk, samba-jazz, Brazilian MPB, contemporary pop and roots reggae is still a compelling and popular live draw, and promises to be even more so in this unique performance. Here, Gil draws from 25 years of his richly varied career to play his own material and more with the LSO, conducted by Francois-Xavier Roth. Also featuring arrangements by cellist Jaques Morelenbaum. Gil also plays as part of the Back2Black festival on Sun Jul 1.
