The ubiquitous countertenor Iestyn Davies joins oboist Nicholas Daniel and viol consort Fretwork for two works separated by four centuries. The great 16th century English composer John Taverner’s mass ‘Gloria tibia trinitas’ is played in its original In Nomine form for voice and viols; and is paired with ‘Nipson’ and ‘The Hidden Face’ by the late Sir John Tavener (who believed he was descended from his almost namesake).
