Trombonist Wes was always the most jazz-inclined horn player in James Brown's legendary The JBs, where he played longside alto Maceo Parker and tenor Pee Wee Ellis. He mixes plenty of straight-ahead jazz into his exploratory funk solos. Expect all the faves in a reliably corking set.
