Frank Griffith Nonet

US tenor saxophonist leads his nine-piece through imaginative reworkings of Gil Evans, Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Weill classics alongside reconstructed versions of '40s rhumbas like 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' and cheeky '60s songs such as 'Music to Watch Girls By' and 'Sunny'. The band also features a guest appearance by French pianist/vocalist, Franck Amsallem who's worked with the likes of Gerry Mulligan and Roy Hargrove and adds real class here.
