Forging Ahead

An innovative collaboration between the National Youth Choirs (training choirs) and the National Youth Jazz Collective, featuring guest artist, pianist Julian Joseph. Includes the world-premiere performance of Karl Jenkins' specially-commissioned 'Scatty', brand new works by jazz luminaries Issie Barratt and Pete Churchill, and choral/ jazz reworks of Hefti, Spalding, Ellington and Wheeler. (Note: at 1.45pm, a FreeStage pre-concert workshop: join the Groove Choir as jazzer Pete Churchill holds an open vocal workshop for singers young and old.)
